Moore & Van Allen PLLC is a prominent, business and litigation law firm with offices in the Carolinas. We are seeking to fill a new, full-time, senior communications position. This position provides strategic communications, media relations and public relations counsel for MVA Public Affairs clients. While working closely with other members of the Public Affairs team, this role requires flexibility, strategic thinking, an understanding of client needs and attention to detail. The focus of this position will be on ground level design and implementation of deliverable communication tools.
Duties will include, but not be limited to: monitoring latest techniques and tools; using modern approaches to support strategic communications plans and deliverables; working alongside the communications team to participate in client presentations and updates; producing regular reports to capture media, thought leadership, stakeholder and other communication related activity to measure team and client performance on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis; performing research and preparing persuasive content, messaging and collateral for use by public affairs professionals; conducting media research and analysis for client relevant and prospective issues; producing written material such as media advisories, news releases, media statements and online and social media content; drafting firm to client, client to employee and client to third party written communications materials.
A Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations or related field with six to eight years of experience in communications and/or public relations is required. Must possess excellent project management and interpersonal communication skills. Political or campaign management experience is helpful. Proficiency with MS Office Suite is required with PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat preferred. Must possess a current, valid driver’s license. This position may require more than 40 hours per week to accomplish essential duties. MVA offers a competitive salary and benefits package to the right individual.
