NCPLA Remembers James Tucker

It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of James Tucker. Below is the obituary provided to us by NCHA.
In Memory of James Tucker
This week, the NCHA family lost a dear colleague and friend with the sudden passing of James Tucker on May 11. James joined NCHA in December 2024 as Director of Government Relations and Legislative Counsel and was later named Interim Vice President of Government Relations and Legislative Counsel. In a short time, he became an essential voice in our advocacy efforts, bringing deep policy expertise, thoughtful leadership, and a passion for public service. Before joining NCHA, James served in leadership roles with Duke Health, Independent Sector, and the Parkinson’s Action Network/Michael J. Fox Foundation.
James’ funeral will be held Monday, May 18, 2026, at the J.M. Dunbar Funeral Home & Crematory [ncha.us9.list-manage.com] located at 690 Southport Road, Roebuck, SC 29376. The family will receive friends and family starting at 10 a.m. with the service to follow starting at 11 a.m. A celebration of life is planned for May 30 in Apex, North Carolina.
