Please be aware that on October 1, 2013, the legislatively mandated electronic filing requirement became effective for all lobbyist and principal registrations, reports, and their respective amendments. Under this new law, it is no longer permissible to file reports, registrations, and their respective amendments by hand delivery, mail, or overnight delivery alone.
Therefore, since all third quarter 2014 expense report filings are due on October 21, 2014, you are required to file such reports electronically.
There are only two legal ways to file these documents:
1. E-file by using the Lobbying Compliance Division Portal on our website; Click https://www.secretary.state.nc.us/lobbyists/security.aspx to access the portal, or
2. E-file by using an electronic notary public. Click http://www.secretary.state.nc.us/enotary/thepage.aspx for more information about e-filing using an electronic notary public.
How to e-file your report:
The Instructions to E-file may be found at http://www.secretary.state.nc.us/Lobbyists/.
If you desire further assistance from us in learning more about those two methods, we will help you with electronic filing.
Appointments: You can make an appointment to get help with e-filing by:
1. Consulting with us by telephone, or
2. Visiting our office and using our temporary public e-filing computer stations.
Appointments are available between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 pm., Monday – Friday, from now until October 20, 2014.
Please note: you are more likely to get an appointment if you make it sooner rather than later. To arrange an appointment: call 919 -807-2170 or email our office at firstname.lastname@example.org.
